Concrete Coating

After a decorative concrete project is completed, it is important to protect it with a concrete coating to prolong the life of the work, and to enhance and preserve its appearance.

Using a high quality concrete coating from Architectural Enhancements to protect a concrete surface can enrich the color, add sheen, protect against excessive wear, block penetration of stains and dirt, and prevent penetration of water & chlorides to minimize freeze-thaw damage.

Architectural Enhancements has high quality acrylic concrete sealers, polyurethanes, and epoxies to meet the requirements of any decorative concrete project.

Acrylic Concrete Sealer

Solvent and water-based acrylic sealers are of high quality, economical, and easiest to apply of all concrete coatings.  They are commonly used on exterior surfaces because they have UV resistance and provide protection against water and chloride intrusion.  Plus, they add varied amounts of sheen to highlight the beauty of a decorative concrete surface.  Additionally, Cure N’ Seal products can be applied to pre-cured concrete to help protect it during the curing process.  Architectural Enhancements’ Acrylic Sealers include: Cure N’ Seal (25%), Tru Sealer (25%), and Tru Sealer (30%).  Architectural Enhancements' Water Based Sealers include:  Cure N' Seal, Tru Extreme Sealer, and Tru Shield.

Urethane

Water-based urethane is thicker than acrylic sealers and creates a hard, long-wearing surface with resistance to wear, abrasion, and chemicals. Often used as a wear coat over epoxies, polyurethanes must be applied in a water free environment as they are intolerant to moisture until they are fully cured.

Epoxy Coating

Epoxy, like urethanes, produces a very hard, wear and abrasion resistant coating for concrete and concrete overlays.  They bond extremely well to concrete and cement-based overlays and come in clear formulations that can accept colorants and metallic colorants with ease.  Most epoxy coatings will yellow if exposed to UV, so it is important to find a UV resistant epoxy such as Architectural Enhancements’ Sunguard for areas that get exposure to the sun.  Architectural Enhancements’ epoxies include Architectural Enhancements’ Tru SunGuard and Tru Industrial.
